By virtue of my recent induction into the “white sheep” of the Kaul family, I have been artfully recruited by Vic Phillips to be her lieutenant and PR rep to head up the R&C office (recruitment & collections) of the Whitewater Adventure for Monday August 10th. I have just logged in the first comment to the Whitewater Adventure Blog posted by Vic back in April, and according to this blog there is virtually no interest from any of us to float down a wet river in August. Zilch!!. So I was thinking that we should either cancel the activity, OR validate the intuition of “that stupid Blog’s” sincerity of representing the true intent and voice of its people. By and by, it was concluded that there was indeed significant interest, and that either the ballot boxes coming in from Florida and Texas were tampered with or there were too many uncountable “hanging chads” so “it” threw out the aggregate vote altogether. After further analysis it was actually determined that the recruitment process and management was flawed and ultimately deemed totally “unblogable”.
ReplyDeleteThus I am sending out this “old fashioned” electronic mail message to gauge the level of interest and obtain final headcount for this post reunion activity on the Clear Water Creek river. So far we have about 10-15 folks that have shown interest and would need a final commitment for the # of heads so we can make the down payment and get’up in dem hills and get’on down the river.
Whitewater rafting details
When: Monday, August 10th, 11:30am River launch
Where: Mad Adventures, 999 County Road 308, Dumont, Colorado (near Idaho Springs just off of I70 (about an hours drive from Grand Lake)
Cost: for Intermediate run (Class 3 and 4 rapids) suitable for our group: $47/person or $42.30 (10% discount) for groups over 15
Transportation to river: Y’on Y’own
For those of you who are staying on to vacation throughout beautiful summer Colorado after the reunion like ourselves, we thought Whitewater rafting would be another activity that would be great fun to do. Please let me know by July10th if you are interested. Once we complete the headcount, we will make the down payment reservation and collect from all you Kauloradofamilyfunlovin’rafters at the reunion.
