Places to Stay Near Grand Lake, Kaulorado

Lemmon Lodge (www.lemmonlodge.com)
We reserved 4 cabins (this is a very popular spot and these were the only cabins available right now for our dates). The lodge is on the lake and is great for kids with a private beach and boat slips if anyone wanted to bring or rent a boat. The only down side is that they require a five night minimum. The cabins we got are the small ones; Cabin #5--sleeps 6(see photos on website),Cabin#14-says it sleeps 4, but pretty small, maybe 2 adults and 1 child.(nice location right next to lake and private beach) Cabin #19 and #21, next to each other and sleep 4 per cabin ( by creek). If you are interested in these, you need to let me know so I can put them in your name, instead of mine. They require a deposit in February, but I would like to know before that so I know they are going to be used or I will cancel them. This is a great location and pretty spot. See website for prices.

Rapids Lodge (www.rapidslodge.com)
This is another great spot that will hold lots of people. I believe you have to put a 1 night deposit down at booking. I recommend you do not wait too long as it will book up fast after the 1st of the year. They are open all winter, so easier to get a hold of . Nice places on the river, some more rustic then others. Check out website for details and prices. This one has a 2 night minimum. We especially liked the Riverview Condos 2,5,6(just being built)7 and 8 are available. 3 and 4 are privately owned and I found the website that rents one of them and is attached. The suites look nice, but not on river. The Rapids Condo 5B is updated and nice as well on river. The other Condos are good as well but a little more dated. The lodge rooms and cabins are fine, but very rustic. This place would probably hold almost everyone right now, but I don't know how quickly they will fill up. It also has a nice bar and restaurant.

Sunny Side Cottages (no website, but I looked at them and are very cute log cabins) There is an owner's cabin and 2 other rental cottages. Both I believe sleep 6. Very nice people and located right in between Rapids and Lemmon Lodge.
Grandlake #- 970-431-0363 or Denver # 303-940-7131
Ask for Chuck.

Wildwood Cabins ( no website, but newer log cabins, about 3 or 4, probably sleep 4 to 6 people each). Joe and I have stayed in one of these cabins and they are nice. In village, only a block from others. 970-627-8746

Western Riviera Motel (www.westernriviera.com)
This is a great little motel right on the lake, just down the beach from lemmon lodge. It is right in the action of the village, so probably not as quiet as the others, but great location and nice clean rooms. We chose these because they are all within walking distance of each other. If you are looking for rental homes or want to be in another location let me know.

One other good hotel/ condo place is the Gateway Inn (www.gatewayinn.com) This is at the entrance to town and really close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is very modern and nice rooms with bar and restaurant and views of the lake. Joe and I have also stayed here as well and enjoyed it. It isn't walking distance to the others but only a short car drive to the other side of the small village.

Camping
We also checked out a great camping spot for you campers. They are on Lake Granby which is the lake just south of Grandlake and very close to our house. We have a pontoon on this lake, so we will have lots of boat cruises with you! Joe is going to look into when you can reserve these sites. We think it is 6 months out from date. We wrote down the good sites and will also write down the date, so we have the best chance to make these reservations. Please let us know if you want to camp and what days you are looking at.

Finally, we are reserving our place for immediate family(the Great 8). As you know this could be a "big bunch", so kids and young adults will have to camp on our land. Let us know if you want to reserve a room. We can hold 5 couples. We have one room reserved so far. I am sure we will have lots camping on our land, so we will have to keep it to immediate family since we have limited tent and camper spots.
